"Milk and Cookies" is a current popular theme for kids' birthday parties and baby showers. It is also my current nightly pregnancy craving. So, here is a round-up of fabulous ideas for throwing a fun "Milk and Cookies" shindig.
Invitations
- Milk and Cookies on the Invitation
From A Party Style
- Invitation shaped like milk and cookies

- Designed like a vintage milk ad
Decorations
- Serving the cookies in cookie jars is a must!
- Decorate large round trays or cookie sheets as cookies to serve on

- Banners! Check out this adorable one from Your Little Birdie
She also made this adorable wreath:
- Other good banner ideas-a cookie banner or a banner made from straws
- Kitchenette or Baker's Rack for display (see photo below-she added cookbooks too!)
from Bridgey Widgey
- For kids, you can always add cows or cookie monster to your theme and decorations
Food
- There will be lots of sweet, so some salty finger snacks, like pretzels and goldfish, are a good idea OR you can keep with the theme and make cookie shaped salty snacks like mini pizzas or round crackers with cheese
- A Variety of Cookies are a must!
from Frog Prince Paperie
- And milk, of course! But, there a variety of cute ways to serve it:
In Fancy Glasses
In Milk bottles with straws

- Milk Mustaches
from Bridgey Widgey
- Cookie Straws
- Cookie Pops
Cake
- Cookie-Flavored/Cookie Dough Cupcakes

from Duet Letterpress
- If you add Cookie Monster to a kid's party, you can make adorable Cookie Monster cookies or cupcakes
from In Katrina's Kitchen
Activities
- Cookie Decorating
- Cookie Making
- For Kids, you can read "If You Give a Mouse a Cookie" and do similar activities as in the book
Favors
- An excellent idea is to have containers for guests to take home their favorite cookies-that way you don't have leftovers!
- If it's a cookie making party, you can include wooden spoons
- You can also include cartons of chocolate milk powder with the take-home cookies
Delightful Partying,
\
